Adding Product Fees to the Mortgage

Some mortgage deals include product fees, while others don’t.  Deals with fees often have lower interest rates, whereas no-fee deals usually come with higher rates.

Lenders typically let you either pay the product or arrangement fee upfront or add it to your mortgage loan. The average fee is around £999, but it can vary depending on the lender and the deal.

Just a heads up - if you add the fee to your mortgage, you'll end up paying more overall, because the lender charges interest on the larger loan amount.

It can be confusing to compare each deal but I can help you work out whether it makes sense for you to pay a fee or not.
